We are recruiting Registered Nurses for an immediate temporary full-time TRAVEL assignment in Newfoundland experienced in Emergency Room.

Pay: $90 – $93/hour

THE ROLE

  • Observe, report and record physical and psychological observations/changes in patient condition. Assist with/provide personal hygiene to clients/patients/residents.
  • Provide interventional and therapeutic treatments, where required (e.g., wound care, nasogastric catheters, traction, non-stress testing, fetal monitoring, dialysis).
  • Administer and record medications (e.g., oral, subcutaneous, pulmonary, rectal, intramuscular).
  • Initiate, administer and maintain intravenous therapy (e.g., flow rate, site integrity).
  • Provide respiratory and airway care (e.g., tracheostomy, suctioning, oxygen therapy, chest percussion, ventilator).
  • Monitor blood glucose and takes appropriate action.
  • Provide care and maintenance of Central Lines, Peripherally Inserted Central
  • Catheter (PICC) lines and porta-caths (e.g., give blood and blood products), where required. Monitors, interprets and records vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, oxygen saturations, attaches cardiac monitors and telemetry devices).
  • Ensure proper nutrition and hydration (e.g., assist/feed, nasogastric, and gastrostomy).

Your qualifications

  • Current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the Nurses Association of Newfoundland (CRNNL)
  • Bachelor of Science/Diploma in Nursing (RN)
  • BCLS required
  • At least, 2-years recent full-time bedside experience.
  • Certificate in CPR.
  • Current Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable sector and
  • Ability to identify opportunity for improvement and act as a change agent
  • Ability to lead best practice
  • Ability to supervise and teach licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other care providers (physicians and staff) and be adaptable, build trust, provide coaching and mentorship, facilitate change and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated clinical competency including critical thinking skills and confidence to work autonomously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a collaborative care environment as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated excellent work performance and attendance record
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound clinical judgment
  • Must be RN
