Product & Commercial Director Job at Broadway Travel Service – Remote

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product & Commercial Director to join our growing team. This is a remote UK based role but travel both in the UK and overseas will be required. This a full time role based on 40 hours per week (flexible to meet the needs of the business).

Role Summary

Leading the Contracting, Product and Commercial teams for Broadway Travel and Bedswithease.

Responsibilities

Developing and executing an effective contracting and buying strategy and provide regular updates, revisions and modifications to the strategy where necessary.

Responsible for the management and development of the group’s product portfolio across its associated brands.

Directing the team responsible for negotiating directly with hoteliers, DMC’s and other ground service providers.

Directing the commercial function of the business responsible for commercial negotiations and relationships for the group including commercial terms and indemnities, targets, incentives, contributions and health and safety.

Leading the team responsible for negotiating rates, payment terms and conditions, over-rides and contributions with hotels, DMC’s and suppliers.

Leading the team responsible for contracting exclusive/non-exclusive properties including identifying opportunities for ‘castle’ properties and special offer deals for the group in-line with the company’s budget.

Maintaining and establishing relationships with hoteliers and DMC’s.

Sourcing exclusive offers to be used within various flash sale promotions and in-house marketing opportunities.

Identifying and managing commercial opportunities and partnerships for the business with hoteliers.

Monitor and analyse market, industry and competitor trends working through competitive issues and establishing both market and target customer strategies.

Actively engaging with the marketing teams in order to maximise partnership opportunities and distribution of product.

Maximise and monitor financial yield performance on hotel contracts.

Travelling to all destinations to meet with hoteliers, DMC’s, suppliers and attending UK and overseas trade fairs where required.

Attendance at events and meetings such as annual conference, board meetings, managers meetings, commercial meetings and any other relevant events or meetings would be expected.

Collaborate closely with the website, sales and marketing teams developing existing and new products and services for our clients.

Ability to produce and provide timely monthly reports.

To undertake any other duties that may fall into the job criteria.

Skills & Experience

Significant experience of working in the travel industry in a similar role, preferably at a senior management level.

Experience of reviewing commercial contracts.

Excellent negotiation skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to build strong and effective relationships with a wide range of people across all levels, both internally and externally.

Outstanding planning and organisational skills including the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workload.

Excellent attention to detail.

Excellent strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret relevant management information.

Ability to use Microsoft packages – e.g. Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Proven record of people management with the ability to lead, manage and develop a multi-disciplinary team.

Ability to create and maintain a positive, enthusiastic working environment in order to drive and maximise sales and marketing opportunities.
