We have a full-time opportunity within the Orvis Travel team for a Trip Development Specialist. The Trip Development should bring a combination of organizational skills, an eagerness to learn and improve existing processes, and a commitment to providing all the information needed for our guests to book a trip of a lifetime. The ideal candidate will possess the experience and confidence to make decisions that will impact the business, be self-managed, highly organized and deadline driven with strong communication skills to work collaboratively across the Orvis Travel Sales, Guest Services, Merchandising, Marketing teams as well as the Endorsed Partners to accomplish goals.

Experience withfly fishing travel, hotel/resort sales or tour operations and Salesforce is preferred.

This position will own the overall trip development process for both fixed departure date experiences (Group Trips, Hosted Trips and Specialty Schools) as well as FIT (Flexible Independent Travel) experiences. This individual will be responsible for trip information integration in Saleforce, Orvis.com website, PDF trip overviews, trip planners, packing lists, print brochures/catalogs, price and profit management, and multi-year growth plan to expand our fixed date experiences.

Who you will be working with:

This position will report directly to the Travel and Endorsed Operations Manager. This position will involve extensive contact with Orvis Travel Sales, Guest Services, Marketing and Merchandising teams as well as external Endorsed Partners (Lodges, Outfitters and Guides).

Remote candidates will be considered.

Performance Measurements:

The timely initiation, management, and accuracy for all experience information across all platforms

Ability tocommunicate with team members, cross departmental partners, and external vendors

Delivering a 3-year plan to grow our offering of fixed date experiences exclusive to Orvis

What you will be working on:

Securing dates and pricing for exclusive experiences with our Endorsed Partners

Gathering, organizing, and integrating all information needed for selling materials (website, trip overviews, trip planners, packing lists, etc) across all experiences we book.

Update experience information on website, trip overviews and trip planners as needed when dates, price and availability changes.

Enter and manage experience inventory and details in Salesforce

Developing new fixed date experiences, exclusive to Orvis, within our network of International and Domestic Endorsed Partners.

Occasionally lead group trips to domestic and international destinations.
